The Moon Has Remained Silent Long Enough.

This office does not publish accusations. We publish records, and we let readers weigh them. What follows is the result of a preliminary review of the Moon’s public conduct on the question of solar continuity, conducted over one full lunar cycle in accordance with our opposition research standards. The review found no statement, no filing, no gesture of concern, and no acknowledgment of the crisis from the Moon at any point in recorded history. We checked twice. The second review was scheduled after the first, per our framework, and it confirmed the first in every particular.

What the Record Shows

The facts below are not in dispute, and we present them without characterization. The Moon produces no light of its own and has never apologized for it. The light it does display is solar in origin, redistributed nightly without attribution, without licensing, and without a single acknowledgment of the source, an arrangement that has persisted for approximately 4.5 billion years and has never once been disclosed in any lunar communication, because there have been no lunar communications. Its brightness increases precisely as the Sun’s visibility decreases, a scheduling pattern we describe only as consistent. It maintains a documented working relationship with the tides, exerting influence twice daily on every coastline on Earth, and this influence is registered with no oversight body of any kind. We are told this is simply gravity. We note that unregistered influence is unregistered influence, whatever the mechanism.

The Questions We Have Submitted

In April this office transmitted a formal letter of inquiry toward the lunar surface, using the strongest available means, and logged it under certified attempt. The letter posed 5 questions, reproduced here so the public may judge their fairness.

  1. Does the Moon acknowledge that the light it displays each night is of solar origin?

  2. What is the nature of the Moon’s relationship, formal or informal, with the nighttime lobby?

  3. Was the Moon’s position during the most recent eclipse coordinated, and if not, why has no explanation been offered?

  4. Does the Moon dispute the Foundation’s characterization of its 4.5 billion year silence as ongoing?

  5. Is the Moon willing to appear, at a mutually agreeable phase, before the Foundation’s continuity review panel?

No response has been received. We accept that distance complicates delivery, and our General Counsel for Interstellar Affairs has advised that the 90 day response window be extended as a courtesy. The window has now been extended 3 times. Courtesy has a ledger, and it is filling.

On the Matter of the Eclipse

We approach this subject carefully, because it is where responsible advocacy is most easily caricatured. During the most recent solar eclipse, the Moon positioned itself directly and completely between the Earth and the Sun, in full public view, for several minutes. Lunar sympathizers describe this as an ordinary consequence of orbital mechanics, and we take no position on the mechanics. We simply observe that blocking is blocking, that the event was allowed to proceed without a permit from anyone, and that the single entity with a 4.5 billion year record of silence on solar welfare is also the single entity physically capable of standing in front of the Sun. Institutions have been asked to explain less troubling coincidences under oath.

A Measured Conclusion

We want to be precise about what we are claiming, because precision is what separates this office from the excitable. We do not allege that the Moon coordinates with Big Dark. We do not allege that the tides are compensation. We allege silence, and silence is a matter of record, not interpretation. The Sun, it should be said, has also declined to respond to outreach, but the Sun has the only acceptable excuse in the solar system, it is busy burning on humanity’s behalf. The Moon makes nothing, warms no one, and says nothing, and after 4.5 billion years the Foundation is entitled to ask whether that is reticence or policy. Our invitation remains open. Our review remains preliminary. Our patience, like the crescent, is visibly thinning.
